Who Is Project C.H.U.C.K.



  • Students from more than 17 different school districts


  • Average age is 11 years old


  • Participants = 63 girls and 158 boys 


  • 18% of participants have been playing in Project C.H.U.C.K. for 5 years or longer



  • 11% did no other summer rec program this year
  • 95% did not do any other summer Reading program, only participated in Project C.H.U.C.K.


  • What do Project C.H.U.C.K. kids want to be when they grow up?


  • 69% want a career in sports


  • 51% want to play basketball professionally


  • 7% want to be teachers, and 3% want to be engineers


  • Other careers include owning their own construction company, makeup artist, personal trainer, astronomer, marine biologist, police officer, shoe designer, and pharmacist


  • One participant wrote, “I just want to be successful” 


  • Over 75% of our participants say they want to go to college after graduating high school
