D&R Champions 2015


Each week Best of the Batch Foundation recognizes a student athlete who exemplifies dignity & respect both on and off the field.

This program encourages teams, students, families, and friends to take the D&R Pledge and to behave respectfully, especially during rival team games.

An athlete from each team is selected by the Athletic Director and Head Coach for exemplifying Dignity & Respect both on and off the field.

Remember, we all make mistakes.  But, the best teams start with dignity and respect for each other, their coaches, and even their rivals.


Dave Haseleu

Coach Lou Cerro said Dave is a great kid, he holds a 4.4 GPA, is captain of the team and volunteers and helps out where he can.  


Nick Mowad

Coach Mark Lyons said Nick has always given 100% the minute he began playing.  He always finds a way to help our younger players during drills or practice.  Nick is considered one of those quiet leaders who is respected by his peers, teachers and coaches.  it would be difficult to find ONE person in our school community that would have a negative remark about Nick Mowad.

Kyreek Sayles

Kyreek is a senior wing back on the team and is also a member of the track & field team.  

Athletic Director, Charley Kiss says Kyreek is an exemplary young man who is respectful and cooperative with adults.  He is a leader by example.  He plays for the team, by his commitment to blocking while his teammates carry the ball. 


Andre Guest

Andre is a Senior and plays on both the offensive and defensive line.  He is involved in a number of activities and is a member of the National Honor Society.  He also helps mentor young students in the youth football program.

Athletic Director, Kerry Hetrick says Andre is hard-working and dedicated to all of his endeavors on the field and in the classroom.  He is always willing to lend a hand and is a pillar in our community.  Andre can remain steady in adverse situations and find success when the pressure is heavy.  Andre is a guy you can count on.  


Sam Fareri

Sam is a senior, playing both wide receiver and safety.  Athletic Director, Tom Kayda says Sam treats everyone with respect and sportsmanship.  He works hard and is a leader on and off the field.  Sam is noted as being humble of his accomplishments.  


Joe Kazalas 

Joe is a Senior and plays on both the offensive and defensive line.  He is involved in a number of activities including wrestling and student council.  Athletic Director, Mark Elphinstone says Joe is a hard-worker both on and off the field.  Joe has proven to be a leader in school, with his teammates and in his community.

Alex Minford 

Alex is a junior, playing both guard and defensive tackle.  He is also a member of the Concert Band.  Athletic Director, Mark Keener says Alex goes above and beyond to ensure his teammates put the team above individual accomplishments. Alex was part of the group of athletes who organized a day of volunteering at the Washington City Mission.


Shane Eckels 

Shane is a senior playing on both sides of the ball as Center on the Offensive Line and Defensive End.  He is part of the Track & Field team and Robotics and gives back to the community as a Youth Volunteer and working with Special Olympics.    .  back on the team and is also a member of the track & field team.  

Coach, Pete Wagner says Shane maintains his GPA all while participating in and excelling in various sports and extracurricular activities.  Shane has been a vital leader with the Special Olympics organization and volunteers countless hours with mentoring programs with the football organization.  


Nick Konyk

Nick is a senior Defensive End.  Nick is part of the Wrestling team, the French Club and gives time to his community.  Head Coach, Mike Evans says Nick is tough and is a vocal leader who backs up his talk with action.  He is a team guy, maintains his GPA and consistently gives his all.  


Brandon Wolfe

Brandon is a senior, a Defensive Tackle on the team, and will be attending the University of Pittsburgh. Brandon is a very busy young man, he is Student Body President, Co-Editor In Chief of Hiller Newspaper, member of the Speech and Debate team, on the Trinity Leadership Committee and the Wrestling Team.  Athletic Director, Ricci Rich says Brandon demonstrates, on a daily basis, the characteristics of Dignity & Respect in his treatment of fellow classmates, teachers and teammates.  He is a positive and respectful young man who strives to be a leader on and off the playing field.
